Bishop Theodoritos of Nazianzos
Bishop
Theodoritos of Nazianzos started serving the Cathedral as Dean on
March 25 2000. Born in Athens in 1948. He holds a B.A. in
Theology (1972) and a B.A. in Philosophy (1976) from the University
of Athens and a Ph.D. in Philosophy (1979) from the University of
Manchester. Was ordained Deacon in Athens on September 9, 1972
and Priest in London on September 17, 1972. On March 9, 2000, he was
elected Bishop of Nazianzou (Kapadokia) by the Holy Synod of the
Ecumenical Patriarchate. He was ordained on March 18, 2000 at
St.George Patriarchate Church in Constantinople. He served the
Greek-Orthodox communities of Cambridge, Manchester, St. Nicholas
Shepherd's Bush London, St.Paraskevi Athens. He tought history of
Ancient Greek Philosophy, Theology and Christian Ethics at Athens
College (1976-2000) and History of Philosophy at the Higher
Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens (1983-4)
Archimandrite Theonas Bakalis
Archimandrite
Theonas Bakalis started serving the Cathedral as Priest in 2001 Born
in Northern Greece in 1952. He holds a B.A. in Theology from
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Was ordained monk at the
Holy Monastery of Simonos Petra in Mount Athos in 1974 and Deacon in
1975. In 1979 he was ordained Priest. He served the
Greek-Orthodox communities of Naples and Rome Italy and Cambridge,
UK.
